Venus entered the shadow of its 2026 retrograde on August 31, beginning a longer process that continues through December 15. The actual retrograde runs from October 3 through November 13. So this is not simply a six-week Venus retrograde. We can think of the entire period as a longer review of Venusian matters, with the retrograde itself being the most concentrated part of the process.

Venus in Libra is Venus in one of her own signs, so there is a natural connection between the planet and the sign. Libra is concerned with relationship, reciprocity, fairness, cooperation, attraction, aesthetics, and the way we negotiate with other people. Venus in Libra wants to create balance and tends to look for the middle ground. It can be gracious, diplomatic, socially aware, and willing to consider another person's point of view. But it can also become overly concerned with keeping the peace, maintaining appearances, or making sure everyone else is comfortable. The question Venus in Libra asks is, “Is this relationship or arrangement actually balanced? Am I getting as much consideration as I am giving?”

Venus in Scorpio takes Venus into very different territory. Scorpio wants depth, honesty, emotional truth, intimacy, trust, and the things that exist underneath the surface. And Venus retrograde in Libra is not simply “Venus in Libra, but weaker.” The retrograde changes the direction of the Venus process. Venus retrograde in Scorpio turns that examination inward. Then Venus retrograde in Libra brings what we have discovered back into the realm of relationship, choice, fairness, and reciprocity. The point isn't necessarily to end something or return to something. It is to become more honest about what we value and whether the way we are relating, loving, spending, sharing, giving, receiving, and choosing actually reflects that.
