New Moon in Scorpio, November 9, 2026: What Are You Ready to Change?

November 9, 2026 New Moon in Scorpio: What Are You Ready to Change?
The November 9, 2026 New Moon in Scorpio: What Are You Ready to Change? invites us to begin again from a deeper place. Scorpio asks us to be honest about what is changing beneath the surface, particularly around trust, shared resources, intimacy, money, and what we are willing to invest ourselves in. A Scorpio New Moon doesn't necessarily call for a big outward beginning. Sometimes the beginning is simply acknowledging that something has changed and you can't approach it the same way anymore.
This New Moon also squares Mars, Jupiter, and the South Node in Leo, adding tension between what we want and what may actually be possible under our current circumstances. Mercury and Venus are still retrograde, slowing down as they approach their stations direct on November 13. That makes the first week of this lunar cycle especially significant. We're beginning again while also reconsidering decisions, relationships, and financial matters that may not be settled yet.
Wanting Something to Change Isn't Enough
The Mars-Jupiter conjunction with the South Node in Leo brings attention to our ambitions, expectations, and the ways we go after what we want. There can be a strong desire to make something happen, to regain control, or to have our efforts recognized. Sometimes that determination is exactly what we need. Other times, we keep pushing because we're reluctant to accept that a situation has changed.
The square from this New Moon brings those issues into the picture. Scorpio wants us to look beneath the surface, beyond what we say we want, and consider what is really going on. We may be focused on a particular outcome without fully acknowledging what it requires from us, what it costs, or whether it is still the right outcome to pursue.
Think about the decisions you've made over the past several months. Perhaps you've invested money, time, or emotional energy into something you believed would work out. If the results aren't what you expected, do you continue along the same path because you've already invested so much? Or can you step back and consider another approach?
This isn't about abandoning a goal whenever things get difficult. It is about recognizing when persistence is useful and when it becomes a way of avoiding a necessary change.
The South Node in Leo also brings familiar responses into focus. When we feel challenged, we may become more determined to prove our point or defend a position. We might take a disagreement personally when the more important issue is finding a workable solution. The question is whether our response serves the situation or simply reinforces a pattern we've used before.
We don't have to give up what matters to us. We may, however, need to reconsider how we're going about getting it.
Money, Relationships, and What We Value
Scorpio has a particular connection to shared resources, financial obligations, trust, and the commitments that bind us to other people. These are areas where intentions and practical realities don't always line up neatly. We may care deeply about someone and still disagree about money. We may trust a person and still need clearer agreements. We may want to maintain a particular arrangement while recognizing that it no longer works as well as it once did.
With Venus retrograde, our values and priorities are under review. Mercury retrograde adds the need to reconsider conversations, information, and decisions. Together, they can bring us back to questions we thought we had already answered.
Perhaps you're looking at a household budget and realizing that something needs to change. Maybe a financial commitment has become harder to manage, or a relationship has developed expectations that were never clearly discussed. It could be that you are simply seeing the value of your time differently and recognizing that you cannot continue giving so much of it to something that leaves little room for your own needs.
These situations don't necessarily call for dramatic decisions. They call for an honest assessment of where things stand.
This New Moon offers an opportunity to recognize where greater honesty would help, particularly when money, responsibility, or trust is shared with someone else.
Mercury and Venus Approach Their Stations
Mercury and Venus both station direct on November 13, just four days after this New Moon. As they change direction, situations we have been reconsidering may begin to move forward. Conversations, financial arrangements, or relationship matters may reach a point where we have a clearer sense of what needs to happen next.
This doesn't mean every question will be settled immediately. It does mean we can begin applying what we've learned during the retrogrades. Take the information you have, recognize what has changed, and make decisions that reflect your circumstances now.
A Different Kind of New Beginning
This New Moon brings us back to a central issue: how do we move forward when the old approach no longer works? We can spend a lot of energy trying to restore something to the way it used to be, even when circumstances have changed. Sometimes the better choice is to recognize that and make a different plan.
Scorpio asks us to be honest about what is happening and make decisions based on what is real, not simply what we wish were still true. That doesn't mean we have to discard everything. It means recognizing where our priorities have shifted and where a different response is needed.
You don't need to resolve everything at once. The seed planted at this New Moon may simply be a willingness to approach a situation differently, stop repeating an unhelpful pattern, or make room for something that better reflects your life now.
The Mars-Jupiter-South Node conjunction reminds us that determination alone doesn't guarantee the outcome we want. Mercury and Venus turning direct help us begin moving out of a period of review and toward clearer choices.
This New Moon is an opportunity to recognize what has changed and decide what you want to do with that knowledge. Sometimes the most important new beginning is not about adding something to your life. It is about understanding what no longer fits, making a different choice, and allowing that choice to shape what comes next.
