Full Moon in Taurus October 25/26: What Does Security Really Mean to You?

The October 25/26 Full Moon in Taurus: What Does Security Really Mean to You? brings us back to a very basic question: What actually gives us a sense of security? Taurus wants something solid, predictable, and dependable. It wants to know that what we have built is going to hold. But with the Sun in Scorpio on the other side of the Full Moon, we are also looking at the things underneath that security, including shared money, investments, debts, obligations, intimacy, and the things we have become attached to because they make us feel safe.

This can be one of those Full Moons where we realize that something we have been holding onto is not necessarily giving us the security we thought it was. Sometimes we hold onto something because it is familiar, not because it is actually working. Taurus wants stability, but Scorpio reminds us that sometimes change is necessary if we want real stability rather than just the appearance of it.

The Full Moon, Pluto, and the Question of Control

The Sun in Scorpio squares Pluto in Aquarius during this Full Moon, creating a fixed T-square, with Pluto at the midpoint of the Full Moon. This adds another layer because Pluto tends to expose where we are trying to maintain control. We may become more aware of a situation where the old way of doing things simply isn't working anymore.

This doesn't mean something has to fall apart. We may just have to admit that we cannot keep doing something the same way and expect a different result. Sometimes recognizing that is the change.

The fixed signs Taurus, Scorpio, and Aquarius can be persistent and resistant to change. There is a reason we hold on to what we know, especially when we have invested years of time, money, or energy into something. But there is a difference between staying committed to something worthwhile and refusing to reconsider it because we have already invested so much. Are we maintaining a situation because it genuinely works for us, or because we are afraid of what might happen if we change it? We don't have to force an answer, but being honest with ourselves about what we see is a good place to start.

Venus Retrograde, Mercury Retrograde, and What We Value

Because Pluto is the modern ruler of Scorpio, we also need to consider the planets moving through that sign. Venus and Mercury are both currently retrograde, bringing an opportunity to review matters connected to relationships, money, communication, and the decisions we make based on what we value.

Venus entered Scorpio on September 10, bringing attention to the deeper layers of our relationships and financial lives. Scorpio relates to shared assets, investments, debt, financial agreements, obligations, trust, and intimacy. These are areas where our values can become complicated because what we want and what we need do not always line up neatly.

Venus has now slipped back into Libra, but her time in Scorpio has given us an opportunity to look beneath the surface. We may have reconsidered an agreement, questioned whether a relationship feels balanced, or recognized that a financial arrangement needs another look. Mercury retrograde adds another opportunity to review information, revisit conversations, and clarify decisions we thought were settled.

This Taurus Full Moon offers a chance to bring some of these questions into clearer focus. What do we want to keep? What needs to be reconsidered? And what are we learning about the difference between being secure and simply being comfortable with what we already know?

The Current Lunar Gestation Cycle: From Seed to Realization

This Full Moon connects with the Lunar Gestation cycle that began with the New Moon in Taurus on April 27, 2025, at 7° Taurus, reached its First Quarter phase on January 25, 2026, at 6° Taurus, and now comes to this Full Moon on October 26, 2026. Think of the New Moon as planting a seed, the First Quarter as the point when we begin to take action or meet challenges related to that seed, and the Full Moon as a time when we can see more clearly what has developed. In Taurus, the underlying themes are security, resources, self-worth, and what we need to feel grounded. Something that began taking shape 18 months ago in the spring of 2025 may now be showing us its results. We can recognize what has worked, what hasn't turned out as expected, and what we have learned along the way. This isn't about judging ourselves for the outcome. It is about understanding what has developed and deciding what needs our attention now.

What Are You Holding On To, and Why?

One of the most useful things we can do with this Full Moon is take an honest look at where we are in our lives without immediately deciding that something is wrong. We can become so accustomed to managing a situation that we stop questioning whether it still makes sense. We keep doing what we have always done because it is familiar, even when the results tell us something needs to change.

Consider the areas of your life where security matters most. It might be your finances, a relationship, your home, your work, or a familiar routine. Security means different things to different people, and what once gave us a sense of stability may not meet our needs in the same way today.

You might ask yourself:

  • What in my life genuinely supports my sense of security, and what only gives me the feeling of security?

  • Am I holding on because something still has value, or because I am uncomfortable with the possibility of change?

  • Where am I trying to control an outcome instead of dealing with what is actually within my control?

  • Is there a practical adjustment I can make that would help me feel more grounded?

These questions aren't meant to push us into making immediate decisions. They are meant to help us see our circumstances more clearly. Sometimes we discover that what we have is working just fine, and we can appreciate it more fully. Other times, we recognize that a change we've been avoiding deserves our attention.

Finding Stability Without Resisting Change

Taurus reminds us that we need a foundation. We need resources, consistency, and things we can depend on. Scorpio reminds us that life doesn't always allow us to maintain the same arrangements indefinitely. Our circumstances change, our relationships evolve, and our understanding of what matters becomes clearer through experience.

With Pluto involved, we may be especially aware of the tension between wanting things to stay the same and knowing that something needs to be different. We don't have to turn that tension into a crisis. We can use it to understand where our energy is going and whether our efforts are helping us build the life we want.

Real stability doesn't mean that nothing changes. It means having the ability to respond to change without losing sight of what matters to us. That may involve setting a boundary, reviewing a financial commitment, having an honest conversation, or letting go of an expectation that no longer fits our circumstances.

This Full Moon in Taurus invites us to recognize what is solid, reconsider what has become too difficult to maintain, and take responsibility for the decisions that are ours to make. We don't need to change everything. We need to understand what is working, what isn't, and what we are ready to do about it.

Sometimes the most important step toward greater security is not acquiring something else or holding on more tightly. It is recognizing that we have the ability to make a different choice.
