On Saturday, February 28th, transiting Mars reaches 28 degrees of Aquarius. That is the exact degree where we recently had the solar eclipse on February 17th. When planets return to eclipse degrees, something gets activated. Not always loudly. Sometimes very quietly. But activation is still activation.

Transit Mars and the Aquarius Solar Eclipse

A solar eclipse plants a seed. It begins something new. Sometimes that beginning is external and obvious, like a change in relationship, work, or lifestyle. But often, the shift starts internally first. When considering the transit of Mars in Aquarius with the solar eclipse, this energy can feel like a call to take action on those inner realizations, especially around independence, freedom, and where you want to move forward in life. It can show up as a realization, a detachment from something that no longer fits, or a quiet shift in identity, direction, or where you feel you belong.

You might not have seen dramatic events happen around the eclipse, and that’s completely normal.

When Mars crosses the eclipse degree, it activates what was planted.

When Mars crosses that same degree, it activates what was planted.

Mars is about movement, action, and momentum. Mars does not like to stay still. It pushes things forward. Sometimes it provokes change. Other times, it simply gives us the courage to finally do what we already knew needed to be done.

So whatever shifted for you around February 17th, this is a time where you may feel compelled to do something about it. Even if you did not feel an immediate shift, it can still be helpful to spend time journaling about how you are feeling, what you are focused on, and what has been on your mind lately. Astrologically, that same area will be activated again about nine months from now when the First Quarter Moon moves through that space of the sky.

Aquarius energy is about independence, authenticity, and outgrowing old systems. It detaches from what feels outdated. It chooses principle over comfort. This can show up as realizing you no longer want to participate in something just because it is expected of you.

Mars in Aquarius does not usually express itself through emotional outbursts. Instead, it tends to be clean and decisive. You may suddenly know you are done with something. Or you may finally say what you have been holding back.

During this transit, you may notice direct conversations happening, stronger boundary setting, sudden clarity in friendships or group dynamics, or motivation to move toward something that feels more aligned with who you are becoming. You may also feel frustration with rules, expectations, or roles that feel restrictive.

Because this is the final degree of Aquarius, there is a sense of urgency. It can feel like you are being asked to stop carrying an older version of yourself forward.

To use this energy consciously, ask yourself:• What shifted for me around February 17th?• What did I realize but not act on?• Where have I been emotionally detached but still inactive?

Mars is asking for movement. Have the conversation. Make the change. Initiate the restructure. Choose authenticity over obligation.

If you act from anger, things may feel sharp. If you act from clarity, the same actions can feel freeing.

This is activation energy. The seed was planted. Now something is ready to grow.
